Rotary World Help of BC received the Donald MacRae Peace Award for its contribution of an estimated $95 million in humanitarian medical and educational equipment to 51 developing countries. The Donald MacRae award is given annually to the individual or group of Rotarians in Canada, Alaska or the Russian Republic, which has made the greatest contribution to international peace through its humanitarian work.
In 2015 we decided to create a very special award for an individual or individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service above self to Rotary World Help. It will not necessarily be given every year, and when it is given it will be given at the AGM meeting.
The award is called “The Ralphie” in honour of Ralph Towsley, the surviving member of the three founders of Rotary World Help.
